Usually the students of the school are not allowed to participate in their own fests, but are involved in their organisation and volunteering. However they take part in Scientifica, but not in the competitions. These fests draw large numbers of participants from schools and PU colleges across Bangalore.

The school organises three intra-school events:

During the last week of June each year, the Investiture ceremony is held where the School Prefect and Vice Prefect, the Sports Captain and Vice Captain, the house captains and vice captains and the presidents and secretaries of the associations in the school are nominated.

Towards the end of the academic year, the Flag Handing Over Ceremony is held where the prefect and the captains hand over charge to their deputies for the rest of the academic year. The house cup is given to the winning house during the ceremony, except during the year when Sports Day is held, when the House and Sports Cups are given.

There are also events for Teachers' Day, Children's Day, and Independence Day.

A Graduation Day event is organised in January every year for the passing out batch of class 12.

Academics

The school follows the CBSE syllabus. The school has Autonomous Status from the CBSE. Autonomous Status implies that the school is free to frame its own curriculum till Class 9.

The school mandates the study of Hindi from Class 1 as a 2nd language, while Sanskrit is taught from Class 5 as a 3rd language. From Class 9, students can study either Hindi or Sanskrit as their 2nd language. Kannada is not part of the curriculum at any stage.

Admission to Class 11 in the school is given on the basis of the overall percentage in Classes 8, 9, and 10. Only a student who secures 60% or above in the mentioned criteria is eligible to continue into the senior secondary level in the school. The school offers both Science as well as Commerce Streams at the senior secondary level. In the Science stream, students have the option to study either Biology, Computer Science or Economics, while in the Commerce stream, students have a choice between Mathematics and History as the optional subject. Formerly, Informatics Practices was offered as an elective to Commerce students.

In Class 10, students appear for the AISSE (All India Secondary School Examination) and in Class 12, students appear for the AISSCE (All India Senior School Certificate Examination), the board exams conducted by the CBSE.

Apart from core subjects and languages, subjects like Work Experience (Computer Science till Class 10), Environmental Education, General Studies, Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW), Theatre and Art are taught.

Extra-curricular activities

Every evening after school, classes for theatre, guitar, keyboard, tabla, western music, classical music, aerobics, yoga, quiz and Bharatanatyam are conducted.

Sports facilities

Volleyball, basketball and throwball are the permitted outdoor sports. For them, inter house and inter school matches are conducted annually. However, the school permits only boys to play volleyball and girls to play throwball.

There are cricket, athletics and football teams, but as the school ground is not big, they play their matches in the school's sister institution, TISB and then only occasionally.
