Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. Neil William Thomson (23 May 1966) is a British conductor and conducting teacher.[1]

Having initially studied the viola at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Neil won a place at the Royal College of Music in South Kensington, London, to study orchestral conducting with Norman Del Mar, later furthering his studies in America at Tanglewood with Leonard Bernstein and Kurt Sanderling.

In 1992 he was made Head of Conducting at the Royal College of Music, becoming the youngest incumbent of the post, which was first held by Sir Adrian Boult in 1916. He left the RCM in 2006 to pursue his own conducting career.
