Pacharo Mzembe is an African-born Australian actor who specializes in short films, television, animation voice overs, theatre, and film. In 2010 he was noted as one of the top ten actors in Australia in theatre.[1][2] He went to school in Queensland at Ipswich Grammar School but was awarded a scholarship to the Australian Acting Academy, which led to him auditioning for entry into NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts)[3][4] at the age of seventeen. Although he started out in theatre, including a role in Australian playwright Tommy Murphy's "Gwen in Purgatory", he has appeared in motion television and movie roles in False Witness, Summer Coda, Kind of a Man, Underbelly: Razor and others.[5]

After the success of Underbelly: Razor in 2011, Pacharo made the decision to suspend his acting career to make a stand for youth and education through the Run of Awareness; a 4189km trans Australian run completed with the physical & financial support of his closest friends and family.

Pacharo resumed his acting career in 2013 wherein he portrayed Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the award winning The Mountaintop written by Katori Hall. In 2014 he was awarded the African Australian Arts Excellence Award.
