Peeping Tom is the debut studio album by American band Peeping Tom. It was released May 30, 2006 through Mike Patton's record label Ipecac Recordings. The album was produced by swapping song files through the mail with collaborators such as Norah Jones, Kool Keith and Massive Attack, among others.[1]

The album, and the band associated with it, is named after Michael Powell's 1960 film Peeping Tom, of which Patton has mentioned being a fan.[2]

Release

Peeping Tom debuted at number 12 on the Australian ARIA charts[3] and number on the ARIA urban album chart on June 7, 2006.[citation needed]

The first and only single released from the album was "Mojo". It is accompanied by a music video, directed by Matt McDermitt and featuring appearances by Danny DeVito, Mark Hoppus, Rachel Hunter, and Dan the Automator.[4]

For the week ending June 17, 2006, Peeping Tom was the top debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart, appearing at number 103,[5] with 10,000 units shipped.[citation needed]

The CD came with unique packaging. As the tab on the right was pulled, the CD popped out of the left side, while the image a woman through a keyhole changed to that of an eye, while, on the righthand, images and credits were displayed.
