The Maine Coon is a breed of domestic cat well known for its distinctive physical appearance. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically native to the state of Maine, where it is the official State Cat.
Although the Maine Coon's exact origins and date of introduction to the United States are unknown, many theories have been proposed. The breed was popular in cat shows in the late 1800s, but its existence became threatened when long-haired breeds from overseas were introduced in the early 20th century. The Maine Coon has since made a comeback and is now the second most popular cat breed.
The Maine Coon is generally noted for its large bone structure, its rectangular body shape, and a long, flowing coat. The breed can be seen in a variety of colors and are known for their intelligence and gentle personalities.

The Siamese is one of the first distinctly recognised breeds of Oriental cat. The exact origins of the breed is unknown, but it is believed to be from Southeast Asia, and is said to be descended from the sacred temple cats of Siam (now Thailand). In Thailand, where they are one of several native breeds, they are called Wichien-maat (วิเชียรมาศ, a name meaning "Moon diamond"). The Siamese cat is one of the most popular breed in Europe and North America. Siamese have a creamy base coat with coloured points on their muzzles, ears, paws and lower legs, tails and (in males) scrota. Siamese are affectionate and intelligent cats, known for their social nature and loud vocalisation.

The Manx cat (formerly often spelled Manks; Manx language: kayt Manninagh) is a breed of domestic cat originating on the Isle of Man, with a naturally occurring mutation which shortens the tail. Many Manx have a small stub of a tail, but Manx cats are best known as being entirely tailless; this is the most distinguishing characteristic of the breed, along with elongated rear legs and a rounded head. Manx cats come in all coat colours and patterns, though all-white specimens are rare, and the coat range of the original stock was more limited. Long-haired variants are sometimes considered a separate breed, the Cymric. Manx are prized as skilled hunters, and thus have often been sought by farmers with rodent problems, and been a preferred ship's cat breed. They are said to be social, tame and active. The British Shorthair is a domestic cat breed that is said to resemble a teddy bear. They have very dense, plush coats that are often described as crisp or cracking which refers to the way the coat breaks over the cats body contours. The British Shorthair is an easygoing breed. It has a stable character and is not terribly demanding of attention, although it will make its desire for play known if its owner looks available. It has been the most popular breed of cat registered by the UK's Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) since 1999 when it overtook the Siamese.

The Siberian is a recognized breed of cat, with most cat organizations accepting Siberians of any color (including color points) for competition. Known to be an exceptionally high jumper, the Siberian is a strong and powerfully built cat, with well proportioned characteristics that include strong hindquarters and large stomachs. Siberians are generally intelligent, playful, affectionate and loyal, leading many to describe their character as dog like. The breed can be seen in Russian paintings and writings hundreds of years old.

The Turkish Van is a breed of cat that may be derived from a type still to be found in the Lake Van region of present-day Turkey. The coat on a Van is considered semi-longhaired. While many cats have three distinct hair types in their coat - guard hairs, awn hairs and down hairs - the Turkish Van only has one. This makes their coat feel like cashmere or rabbit fur, and the coat dries quickly when wet. Turkish Vans are very intelligent, and will easily take over their home and owners. Vans are people cats that want to be with them wherever they go.

Savannahs are cats produced by crossbreeding Servals and domestic cats. The coat of a Savannah depends a lot on the breed of cat used for the domestic cross. Early generations have some form of dark spotting on a lighter coat, and many breeders employ "wild" looking spotted breeds such as the Bengal and Egyptian Mau for the cross to help preserve these markings in later generations.
An often noted trait of the Savannah is its jumping ability. Savannahs are known to jump up on top of doors, refrigerators and high cabinets. Some Savannahs can leap about 8 feet (2.5 m) high from a standing position. The Bengal is a relatively new hybrid breed of cat, which exhibits the "wild" markings (such as large spots, rosettes, and a light/white belly), and body structure reminiscent of the wild Asian Leopard Cat (Prionailurus bengalensis).[1] The Bengal cat has a desirable "wild" appearance with a gentle domestic cat temperament, provided it is separated by at least three generations from the original crossing between a domestic feline and an Asian Leopard Cat
