Ajalon is a Christian progressive rock trio from Seattle. Their name is taken from the Bible (Joshua 10:12), loosely meaning "Grace in the midst of the fire".[1]

History

Ajalon was started in 1994 by Wil Henderson, Randy George and Dan Lile. In 1996 they sent a demo tape to Rick Wakeman, keyboardist of the progressive rock group Yes, and after listening he signed them to his label Hope Records.[2] The same year the band released their first album Light at the End of the Tunnel. Among their musical influences one can hear Yes, Genesis and Marillion.

It was not before 2004 that the group released their next album On the Threshold of Eternity on the label ProgRock Records, where they collaborated with Rick Wakeman, guitarist Phil Keaggy and ex-Spock's Beard frontman Neal Morse. Randy George has participated in several Neal Morse projects, one of them being his album Testimony, which was released earlier in 2004. On the Threshold of Eternity got good reviews in the prog rock scene.[3][4]

In 2009, Ajalon released their third album This Good Place. Again, a few guest musicians were brought in.
