Red Eye Theater (legal name Red Eye Collaboration) is a multidisciplinary creative laboratory dedicated to the development and presentation of new theater and performance work in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was founded in 1983 by writer/director Steve Busa, performer Miriam Must and visual artist Barbara Abramson.[1]

Branching out from a theatrical base to support a wide range of programming, Red Eye is home to theater, dance, music, performance art, and interdisciplinary forms. Each year Red Eye presents two company productions, the New Works 4 Weeks festival, and co-sponsored projects by local companies and independent artists.

New Works 4 Weeks is a multidisciplinary festival that is the culminating public component of a six-month development program geared toward emerging artists engaged in the investigation of new directions.

Red Eye has received major funding from the Jerome Foundation,[2] the McKnight Foundation,[3] Target Corporation, the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council,[4] the Minnesota State Arts Board,[5] the Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment,[6] and the National Endowment for the Arts.[7]
