The Italian Catholic Archdiocese of Catanzaro-Squillace (Latin: Archidioecesis Catacensis-Squillacensis) in Calabria, has existed in its current form since 1986. In that year the Archdiocese of Catanzaro became a metropolitan see, and was combined with the diocese of Squillace.[1]

History

In 1122, Pope Callistus II transferred to Catanzaro the see of Taverna, and this is taken as the date of foundation of the diocese.[2]
