Ruxley is a small settlement in South East London, that lies on the boundary between the London Boroughs of Bexley and Bromley; it is also close to the Greater London border with Kent.
History
Ruxley was previously a civil parish of the Hundred of Ruxley, Sutton-at-Hone Lathe. However it was abolished in 1557 and the area was absorbed into the North Cray parish.[1]
Ruxley Gravel Pits is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest.[2]
Transport
Ruxley is served by Transport for London bus routes 233 to Eltham via Sidcup and to Swanley, and 492 to Sidcup and Bluewater via Bexleyheath. The nearest rail link to Ruxley is at Sidcup station.
