Sam McKendry (born 19 July 1989, in Stirling, Western Australia) is a professional rugby league player who currently plays for the Penrith Panthers in the National Rugby League. He plays as a prop and is a New Zealand international.[1]

Early years
McKendry was born in Stirling, Western Australia. He then moved back to New Zealand when he was 7 years old. He was a Mt Albert Lions junior and played for the Junior Kiwis. He was a former boarding student at Mt Albert Grammar School where he represented the under 15 Rugby team and Rugby League First XIII.
Playing career
Sam McKendry debuted for the Penrith Panthers in the 2008 NRL season, with successful and unsuccessful stints keeping him in and out of first-grade. However, during the 2010 NRL season, McKendry became a fixed member of Penrith Panthers 17-man squad.
Representative career
In 2008 McKendry played for the New Zealand Māori in a curtain raiser to the 2008 World Cup. In 2010 he was named in the New Zealand Kiwis squad for the Four Nations tournament after Fuifui Moimoi withdrew due to injury.
McKendry again played for the New Zealand Māori in 2010 against England as part of the build up to the Four Nations.[2]
He made his test debut for the New Zealand Kiwis in the 2010 Four Nations. For the 2013 Anzac Test, McKendry was selected to play for New Zealand from the interchange bench in their loss against Australia.
Personal life
Mckendry is married to Kirsten McKendry (formerly Grech).[3]
