Samworth Enterprise Academy, is an Academy (publicly funded, semi-independent all through school) located in Leicester, England. It is a co-educational school for 3-16 year olds that specialises in Food, Business and Enterprise. The school was created on the site of the Mary Linwood Comprehensive School which closed in 1997. It opened in 2007[1] under the co-sponsorship of the Church of England and businessman Sir David Samworth,[2] and incorporates a fully functioning church.[3]
In September 2014, after poor GCSE results, the original head Pat Dubas resigned,[4] and a new interim head was appointed.[5] An Ofsted report in June 2015, classified the school as "inadequate in almost all areas".[6][7]
