San Diego Nomads
San Diego Nomads is a U.S. soccer team in San Diego, California.
History
The Nomads joined the Western Soccer Alliance in 1986. In 1989, the WSA changed its name to the Western Soccer League and in 1990, the team joined the American Professional Soccer League in 1990 when the WSL merged with the American Soccer League. After winning the WSL championship in 1989, they lost to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the ASL in WSL-ASL "National" Championship. After the 1990 season, the team left the league to become an amateur club, which still exists, in the San Diego County Soccer League.[1]
