Sardis City is a town in Etowah and Marshall counties in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is part of the Gadsden Metropolitan Statistical Area. At the 2010 census the population was 1,704.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 7.9 square miles (20.4 km²), of which 7.8 square miles (20.3 km²) is land and 0.015 square miles (0.04 km²), or 0.20%, is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,438 people, 572 households, and 458 families residing in the town. The population density was 195.1 people per square mile (75.3/km²). There were 597 housing units at an average density of 81.0 per square mile (31.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.10% White, 0.14% Black or African American, 0.07% Native American, 0.14% Pacific Islander, and 0.56% from two or more races. 0.63% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 572 households out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.7% were married couples living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.9% were non-families. 18.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 2.82.

In the town the population was spread out with 22.2% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 28.4% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 14.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 100.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.6 males.

There were 703 housing units at an average density of 89.0 per square mile (34.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.2% White, 0.4% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.0% Pacific Islander, and 0.6% from two or more races. 0.7% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 657 households out of which 31.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.0% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.5% were non-families. 18.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 2.97.

In the town the population was spread out with 24.4% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 24.6% from 25 to 44, 28.1% from 45 to 64, and 16.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40.9 years. For every 100 females there were 92.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.3 males.
