Shen Pei (died 204), courtesy name Zhengnan, was a minister serving under the warlord Yuan Shao in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. Shen was criticized by Cao Cao's advisor Xun Yu many times as being called "strong of will but without tact". Following the death of Yuan Shao, Shen went on to serve under Yuan Shang. Shen afterwards was caught by Cao Cao but refused to surrender. However, in honor of his fallen lord Yuan Shao, Shen asked if he could be executed while facing north, which was in the direction of his lord when he would be executed. After Cao Cao saw the great loyalty that possessed Shen, he made sure to give him the most honorable of burials.
