Shilpa Shirodkar is an Indian actress who was active in Bollywood films from 1989 to 2000. After a 13-year hiatus from acting, she made her television debut in the Zee TV series Ek Mutthi Aasmaan in 2013.

Early life
Shilpa is the elder sister of actress and former Miss India Namrata Shirodkar, and is the granddaughter of the famous Marathi actress Meenakshi Shirodkar.[3]
Career
Shilpa Shirodkar made her debut with the Ramesh Sippy's Bhrashtachar 1989 film with Mithun Chakraborty and Rekha in which she played the role of a blind girl. She then starred opposite Mithun Chakraborty in the super hit film Trinetra. She then starred in the film Kishen Kanhaiya (1990), She starred in several other films such as Hum (1991), Khuda Gawah (1992), Aankhen (1993), Pehchaan (1993), Gopi Kishan (1994), Bewafa Sanam (1995) and Mrityudand (1997). Her last film appearance was in the 2000 film Gaja Gamini. She was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for Khuda Gawah.[4] Shilpa paired in 9 films with Mithun Chakraborty and fans appreciated as best couple.
She took a 13-year hiatus from show business to raise her family and in 2013 she made her return to acting, this time on television. She shifted residence to Mumbai and started shooting in the Delhi suburb for her comeback vehicle, Zee TV's new show Ek Mutthi Aasmaan based on the life of domestic helps.[5] After the series ended in 2014, she is now set to appear in her second television serial Silsila Pyar Ka which will air on Star Plus in December 2015.
