It emerged in 1941 from a split in the Rhodesia Labour Party.[1] The party had a small, and predominantly white, membership. The party had links to the Communist Party of South Africa and the Communist Party of Great Britain.[2] The party disappeared in the late 1940s.[3] Nobel Laureate Doris Lessing was a member of the party.[4]
