St. Frances Academy is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Background

St. Frances was founded as the 'Baltimore School for Colored Girls was opened in 1828 and renamed St. Frances of Rome Academy in the 1850s. The school moved to its present location in 1870. The first graduating class graduated in 1832. It became coeducational in the 1970s.[2] The student population is still predominantly African-American.
