Stefan Schwab (born 27 September 1990) is an Austrian footballer who plays for Rapid Wien.

Club career

In summer 2014, Schwab left Admira Wacker and moved to nearby fellow Austrian Bundesliga side Rapid Wien. He signed a three-year deal until 2017.

Horror tackle

Stefan Schwab became world famous due to a dangerous tackle on Jairo Riedewald in a game against AFCA Ajax, in the third qualifying round for the UEFA Champions Leaugue (29th July 2015). He was sent of with a red card for the foul. AFC Ajax coach Frank de Boer called it an outrageous foul which can end someone's career. Luckily Jairo Riedewald could continue the match without an injury.

International career

Schwab got his first call up to the senior Austria squad for a UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier Liechtenstein in October 2015.
