"Under the God" was the first single released by Tin Machine, taken from their eponymous debut album in June 1989.
The single was, unusually, released after the album had been issued, and its video was directed by Julien Temple (which masqueraded as a performance, with the audience storming the stage). It was performed live on both of Tin Machine’s tours.
