Professional competences of teachers related to inclusive education can affect the student-teache... more Professional competences of teachers related to inclusive education can affect the student-teacher relationship. One of the most important factors in the effective continuation of inclusive education practices is the professional competences of teachers working with inclusive students. Teachers' perceptions of professional competence are generally shaped within specific domains, with perceptions of teacher competence standing out among these areas. Teacher competence perceptions have been recognized as an essential component in teacher education. In the study, it was aimed to reveal the professional competence perceptions of teachers with inclusion students towards inclusive education in terms of various variables. In this study, the relational screening model, one of the descriptive screening models, was used as the research model. 258 teachers with mainstreaming students participated in the study. Data were collected with the “Professional Self-Efficacy Scale for Teachers on Inclusive Education” developed by Karaca and Sarı (2024), which consists of 38 items in 7 different dimensions. Data analysis was carried out using the statistical package programme. Independent groups t-test was used to determine the differences based on variables such as inclusion education and gender status; one-way analysis of variance was used for age group and graduated department variables. In cases where differences were observed, Tukey and Games-Howell tests were applied to determine and control the differences between averages. The results of this study highlight the need for continuous and targeted professional development to enhance teachers' competencies in inclusive education. The results of the study showed that teachers' perceptions of professional competence related to inclusive education differed in terms of variables such as gender, inclusive education status, age and graduation field. Seminars, workshops and in-service training programmes should be organised to increase teachers' knowledge and skills about inclusive education in Turkiye. Inclusion education programmes should be designed for teachers of various age groups and teachers graduated from different departments.

The aim of the research is to understand the bibliometric profile of physical activity research i... more The aim of the research is to understand the bibliometric profile of physical activity research in special education. The researchers first decided on the database to be searched. Then, keywords were determined and the data were converted into a form suitable for analysis. Then, data analysis was carried out. As a result of the research, a series of keywords were decided to ensure that publications containing research on physical activity in special education were included: "(AB= ("special education")) AND AB= ("sport" or "physical activity" or "exercise") In the first search, 255 articles were reached. After excluding the excluded articles, 137 articles were analysed. Using the restriction options of the WoS database, the search was restricted to consist only of articles and to be between 1992 and 2024. Articles and early access were selected and all languages were selected as the language of publication. VOSviewer, Microsoft Excel 2016 and the open source Biblioshiny package program created in R programming language for bibliometric analyses were used in the analysis of the research data. In this study, the number of publications was taken into account to determine the effective journals in the field, and the number of local and global citations was evaluated to determine the effective publications. In order to evaluate the historical development of research on physical activity in special education, the frequency of publication by years was used. Likewise, in order to determine the publication efficiency of the countries, the number of publications of the relevant authors according to their countries was evaluated. Common word analyses and strategic diagrams were used to identify thematic research areas.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye'deki ilkokul, ortaokul ve liselerde kaynaştırma eğitiminin yer aldığ... more Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye'deki ilkokul, ortaokul ve liselerde kaynaştırma eğitiminin yer aldığı okullarda görev yapan öğretmenler için kaynaştırma eğitimiyle ilgili mesleki öz-yeterlik ölçeği geliştirmektir. Öğretmenler, yansız atama yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi kapsamında araştırma detayları hakkında bilgilendirilen ve katılımı onaylayan toplam 360 öğretmenden veri toplanmıştır. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi aşamasında yer alan katılımcı sayısı ise kaynaştırma eğitiminin yer aldığı genel eğitim okullarında görev yapan 300 öğretmendir. Kaynaştırma eğitimiyle ilgili mesleki öz-yeterliklerini ölçmek üzere tasarlanan bu ölçek, geçerlilik ve güvenilirlik açısından detaylı bir incelemeden geçirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, ölçeğin Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı .97 olarak belirlenmiştir ve 7 farklı faktörden oluşan bir yapıya sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi, öğretmenler için hazırlanan bu ölçeğin seçilen örneklem ile iyi bir uyum sağladığını ve önemli bulgular sunduğunu göstermiştir. Araştırmanın bulguları, öğretmenlerin kaynaştırma eğitimi konusundaki mesleki öz-yeterliliklerini değerlendirmede kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.

Th... more The current research is to examine the burnout levels of special education teacher candidates. This study used a correlational survey design. 311 teacher candidates studying in the special education department in Turkiye in the 2023-2024 academic year participated in the research. The research data were collected through the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Form (MTE-Student Form). The analysis of the obtained data was carried out through the statistical package program. Independent groups ttest was used to reveal the differences in variables related to the gender of the teacher candidates, their satisfaction with the special education teaching department they studied in, and their interaction with individuals with special needs in the past. Oneway analysis of variance ANOVA was used to determine the differentiation in terms of variables related to the grade level of education. In cases where differentiation was understood, the Tukey test was used to reveal the reason for the differentiation and to control the difference between the means. As a result of the research, it is revealed that there is a significant difference (p˂0.05) between the gender, grade level, satisfaction with the special education department and interaction with individuals with special needs in the past and burnout levels of pre-service teachers. In order to reduce burnout in pre-service special education teachers, personal achievement and skills of these individuals should be developed, activities that encourage learning should be included and group work should be included.

Additionally, the aim is to enable children to acquire communication and interaction skills, self-care skills, psychomotor and cognitive skills, and to facilitate their children's social interaction. The aim of this study is to determine the educational needs of parents having a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in early childhood. The semi-structured interview, which is part of the qualitative research technique, was used in the present study. Data were gathered through a semi-structured interview form. The participants of this research consisted of 20 parents having a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in early childhood and living in Konya. The obtained data were analyzed using a descriptive analysis technique. The results of the study have revealed that parents having a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in early childhood feel inadequate about helping their children acquire social and emotional skills, cognitive skills, language and communication skills, self-care skills, fine and gross motor skills, and dealing with the problem behaviors exhibited by their children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Parents reported that they need training programs on these issues. It is suggested that parent training programs should be effectively implemented and school administrators play a supportive role in parental education by cooperating with school counseling services and teachers.

The study presents a bibliometric analysis of studies conducted on sport and physical activity in... more The study presents a bibliometric analysis of studies conducted on sport and physical activity in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). 490 articles determined on Web of Science database in line with the purpose of the study were included in the data analysis. The results obtained show that there was a limited number of studies in this field before 2006, but that research has gained pace in this regard in recent years. It was found that the relevant research concentrated in countries such as the USA, China, Canada, and Turkey. On the other hand, such research was encountered less in some African and Asian regions involving underdeveloped countries. In addition, the analyses performed demonstrated that the number of studies which emphasized the importance of sport and physical activity in individuals with ASD in terms of developing their educational and life skills was higher. Besides, it was determined that more research was needed on issues such as mental health, executive functions, and adapted physical activity. In conclusion, the importance of research on sport and physical activity in individuals with ASD was emphasized, and the need for more research in this field was expressed.

This research aims to develop a candidate teachers' attitude scale regarding the involvement of i... more This research aims to develop a candidate teachers' attitude scale regarding the involvement of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in inclusive education. A total of 285 teacher candidates majoring in various disciplines of education faculties participated in this research. 39% (n=111) of the participants are male, and 61% (n=174) are female. As a result of the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), it is seen that the scale has a 3-factor structure "education and training", "Professional selfefficacy" and "Sensitivity". The three-factor structure consisting of education and teaching, Professional self-efficacy, and sensitivity sub-dimensions account for 63,55% of the total variance. Besides, the research findings include correlation values between the mean and standard deviations of the scale and its dimensions. Between-group comparisons regarding the item average scores of lower-upper groups were conducted to determine the reliability of the scale. It was found that comparison results between the lower and upper groups of 27% indicated a significant difference for all items. These findings obtained in the current study revealed that the three-factor structure of the scale was a valid and reliable tool in determining the attitudes of teacher candidates majoring in the Faculty of Education towards the involvement of individuals with Autism in inclusive education.

Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemleri ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin birlikte kullanıldığı karma yöntemle desenlenmiştir. Araştırmanın birinci aşamasında öğretmenlerin kaynaştırma eğitimiyle ilgili bilgi yeterlik düzeylerinin anlaşılmasında nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Kaynaştırma sınıfında çalışan 35 öğretmenle yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılmış, veriler Betimsel Analiz Tekniğiyle analiz edilmiştir. Ancak ülkemizde evde eğitim hizmetlerinde ebeveyn görüşlerinin alınmasıyla ilgili sınırlı araştırmaların yapıldığı görülmektedir. Dolayısıyla bu araştırmada Türkiye’de evde eğitim hizmetlerinin ebeveyn görüşlerine göre incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. The aim of this study is to examine teachers' views on school administrators' competencies on spe... more The aim of this study is to examine teachers' views on school administrators' competencies on special education. The research was designed with the interview method, one of the qualitative research methods. The participants in the study were 20 teachers working in schools with students with special needs in Turkiye in the 2023-2024 academic year. The research data were obtained through a semistructured interview form. The data obtained from the participants were analyzed using the content analysis technique. According to the teachers' evaluations, school administrators may inadequately provide and manage the necessary resources for special education programmes. Most teachers stated that administrators do not make extra efforts beyond the facilities and materials provided by the state institutions. Although it is clear in some cases that administrators exhibit caring and conscious approaches, it is highlighted that they may be slow and inadequate in determining special education processes and needs in general. Therefore, comprehensive training programmes on special education should be organized for school administrators and these programmes should be updated regularly. To improve the management skills of administrators concerning special education, feedback from teachers and parents should be taken into account.

Mesleki Yeterlik Gelişimi Ölçeğiyle’ ilgili geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmaları yapılmış ölçeğin genel Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı .97.7 olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Deney ve Kontrol grubundaki öğretmenlere geliştirilen ölçek ön test ve son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen veriler SPSS programına girilmiştir. Kontrol grubundaki öğretmenlerden istatistik olarak anlamlı bir farklılık görülmezken, deney grubundaki öğretmenlerin ön test ve son test puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır [t(62 )=8.548 p<0.01]. Dolayısıyla Öğretmen İçin Kaynaştırma Yeterlik Eğitim Programı öğretmenlerin kaynaştırmayla ilgili mesleki yeterliklerini artırmada etkili olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

The data were obtained from the scale via from control and experimental groups. The data collected were analysed with the help of the SPSS program. There was statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the teachers in the experimental group [t(62 )=8.548 p<0.01]. Therefore, it was understood that the ‘ Teachers’ Competency Training Program on Inclusion’ is effective in increasing the professional competencies of the teachers about inclusion.

that by providing support education services, individuals with special needs
continue their education together with their normally developing peers in public and
private pre-schools, primary schools, secondary schools and non-formal education
institutions (The Regulation Governing Special Education Services, 2018). In
inclusive education practices, it is essential to place students with special needs in
schools where inclusive education is given. Inclusion is defined as the education
of students with special needs in general education schools together within their
normally developing peers, by providing support services either to them or the
classroom teacher or both when necessary (Sucuoğlu and Kargin 2006). In Turkey,
children having similar emotional, mental, physical and social characteristics
receive education in general education schools and classes (Özgür, 2011).
The inclusion means that everyone, regardless of individual differences, accepts
and respects the student with special needs, and inclusive education should be
prepared taking the special needs of the children into account. It does not mean that
the child keeps up with the school; on the contrary, it means that the school keeps up
with the child. Additionally, inclusion in education does not mean that all children
will be transferred from private special education schools to normal schools. The
inclusive education requires special education schools and normal schools to work
more closely. In this way, it can be observed whether each child receives the most
appropriate education.
