"Can I pet your hair?" You shyly ask Renjun. You'd be lying if you said it hadn't taken you multiple weeks to build up the courage to ask.
"Huh," he acts like he couldn't hear you. Upon realizing you were not going to repeat yourself, he smiles, nodding. "Y/n, please play with my hair."
He takes a seat in front of the sofa, patting the cushion for you to sit behind him. You offer him the remote and he turns on some cartoons as you slip your fingers through his scalp. His hair was soft and fluffy, just as you expected. Even though it had been bleached and dyed, it still looked healthy.
He hums a little, letting you know that he likes it. Slowly, he leans his head back, it landing in your lap. He looks at you upside down. "Y/n?"
"Yes," you stammer, feeling the heat of your blush all over your face.
"Can I kiss you?"
You glance at his lips. They looked so pink and sweet. You gulp, shakily agreeing. Never removing your gaze from his lips, you note the way they turn upward in a smile after your answer. You lean down to push together your lips, feeling that same grim of his against your own.
Sitting back upright, you look at him for some sort of clue as to how he felt about it. He's still looking up at you, a wide smile on his mouth that previously connected with yours, and crinkled eyes showcasing sparkles and genuineness. He licks his lips subconsciously and turns around facing you. "Can you do it again?"

whenever mark has a long day practicing, he wants nothing more to get home to you and rest with you in his arms. most of the time, he will show up and try to get you to go to bed with him, only for you to insist he takes a shower first. after showering, you will both sit in bed facing in each other while you dry his hair. he would have a lazy, droopy smile on his face. the second you put the towel down he is leaning his head on your shoulder and pushing you onto the bed. other times, he will insist he is not tired so he can spend time with you, which usually just ends in him falling asleep on your shoulder or with his head on your lap. he is hard working; you can’t blame him.
he can have an internal struggle showing you affection rather than playful bickering, but renjun loves holding your hand- even if he will not admit it. he reaches it out to hold it both consciously and unconsciously, finding it comforting to know he can hold you at anytime. if he feels extra affectionate he kisses your knuckles while he concentrates on whatever he is doing. and whenever you are stressing out over studying for exams, he is sure to pay you a visit. he grabs yours hands to pull you to him and squeezes them to give you encouragement, telling you take a break and spend some time with him so you can relax.
whether you are with a group of people or watching a movie alone, jeno has the habit of touching you without realizing it. he will unconsciously throw his arm around your shoulders or place his hand on your thigh. it is his way of letting your know that he is still there for you. in larger settings, he will put his hand on the small of your back while you are walking, or if the two of you are walking past each other, he will reach out and squeeze our hand in acknowledgment. he's more affectionate in private, he does not feel the need to show people he cares about you, he would rather just show you instead.
haechan would pull you to him if you are anywhere within his vicinity. his personal favorite is pulling you into his lap whenever he's playing on his computer. at first, you were afraid that you were annoying him. but he loves it, he loves your attention. he reassures you by whispering sweet nothing into your ear while you sit on his lap, much to the dreamies dismay. he also likes hugging you from behind and following you everywhere. whenever you are "too busy", he will literally be attached to your hip in hopes you will give him some attention. he does it lovingly... and to tease you.
when jaemin and you were at the beginning of your relationship, jaemin tried to contain his affectionate side quiet while you grew accustomed to him. but one day, when he was leaving your apartment, he had kissed you goodbye. he had stood shocked for a second before you gave him a shy smile. now that the two of you have been together for some time, he will throw you off whenever he can. if he is in a hurry, he will rush past you and place a kiss to your cheek before heading for the door. if you are frustrated with him, he will kiss you all over your face until you talk it out with him. he is like a little kid in love.
the combination of you and chenle together usually results in endless laughing. even if it is three in the morning on his bed, in which ends in one of the boys yelling at you to be quiet from the other side of the door. chenle is usually up to no good trying to tease you. he loves to lay in bed with you and whisper the weirdest things into your ear for a reaction from you. he will give to the tightest hugs and lift you off the ground when he gets excited, both of your laughs filling the room. and wrapping his arms around you and kissing your neck to get you to feel ticklish to hear you laugh makes him feel like he is on top of the world.
he is just putty around you. sometimes, jisung feels like he is too timid to give you forms of strong affection. but to you, even his smallest actions make you feel loved. like the way he ghost his fingers over yours when he is deciding if it is appropriate to hold your hand, or how pink he turns when he places a small kiss on your forehead because he is so tall. or how whenever you spend the night at each other's houses, jisung will lightly trace your facial features with his finger while you sleep next to him, like he is trying to memorize every part of you. he does not know that you know he does this.

taeil will hold your hand when he feels the need to protect you. if you’re in a crowd of people, it will only take a few seconds before you feel his fingers brush yours. if he can sense that you’re feeling anxious or worried about anything, he’ll hold your hand and move his thumb lovingly over your knuckles. if he thinks something is going to hurt you, he’ll grab your hand and gently pull you towards him. sometimes, when you’re having a bad day, the gesture makes you feel so loved that like you’re about to cry. when the two of you are together, watching a movie, or cuddling in bed, he’ll trace words into your hand with his thumb.

before you starting dating johnny flirted with you 24/7. he loved seeing how flustered you got because it gave him hope that you maybe felt the same way he did. on your third date, johnny took you to the town’s yearly fair. he had convinced you to get on one of the tallest rides and halfway through reached out to grab his hand. to you, the gesture was instinctive and you hadn’t realized you had done it. but johnny had only held your hand once and he was itching to hold it again. he adored how small your hand was in his. he eventually got over himself and reached out to grab it. he felt you stiffen before curling your fingers to rest over his knuckles. johnny could have told you “i love you” right then and there, but he would leave that off for another time.
“my hand was made to fit into yours. that’s all there is to it.”
yuta will hold your hand to get the upper hand on anything. he’s so proud that you’re his significant other that if you’re in public, he’s holding you hand. if you're busy and not giving him enough attention, he'll reach for you hand and not let it go until you give him a kiss. if you’re arguing with him, he’ll stand there and let you take it out on him. when you walk away, frustrated at him for not saying anything, he’ll reach out to grab your hand and spin you around to pull you in close and wrap his hands around you waist. he’ll kiss you all over your face while you cover your face to hide the smile that’s not supposed to be there.

you’re taeyong’s energy source. even before the two of you started dating, taeyong would hold your hand whenever he could because you were (in his words) his person. he could feel his day get even just a little better when he was holding you in anyway. taeyong tends to get very overwhelmed with everything, from practice to being a leader in his friend group. with you, he feels like he can just relax and not have to put up a strong front. the two of you will lay in his bed, talking for hours while you hold both hands together. he'll play with your fingers while he talks to you. and when he's down, he'll bring your hand to his lips and kiss your knuckles while looking at your tenderly.

jaehyun holds your hand in the ways that make anyone's heart flutter; the clique ways. whenever he’s driving and you’re in the passenger seat, there’s a 99.9% chance that he will be holding your hand. if the two of you are walking anywhere, he’s hold your hand to keep you close. at dinners, he’ll seat next to you and squeeze your hand to remind you that he’s still there. he loves taking you out to fancy dinners. he’ll do that thing they do in movies where he’ll reach out to hold your hand and trace shapes on your skin while he’s looking at the menu. and if you both ever go out to a dance, he’ll offer you a hand and lead you throughout the night while he hold you tenderly.

jungwoo wants to show you everything and anything he thinks will make you happy. he’ll take you out and if he needs to show you anything, like the lobsters fighting in the tank down the street, he’ll take you’re hand and drag you over to look. if he can tell you’re feeling down, he’ll grab your hand and swing them back in forth, something he knows will always leaving you smiling at least a bit. and when he’s feels infatuated by you, he’ll put his hand up to hi-five you and hold your hand when you do, holding your intertwined hands under his chin and give you a boyish grin.

at beginning of your relationship mark would be too shy to grab your hand. most of the time, if anyone say the two of you hiding hands, it was probably you who had grabbed his. but now that he’s actually comfortable around you, he’ll grab them whenever he has the chance. he’s embarrassed of how nervous you made him at first and how sweaty his hands would get. but now he grabs your hand out of instinct. he surprises himself when he realizes how much he does it. when the two of you are out and he looks down, his hand is in yours. when he’s on his phone, he’ll look down at your lap to see them clasped together on your thigh. when he spends the night, he’ll wake up to his hand over your waist and your hand in his. when he’s nervous, he’ll grab your hand and place it on his lips. he loves how your hands are always warm. one time you scolded him for going out in the cold without any mittens and grabbed your hand and put it in his pocket.

donghyuck loves attention. he especially loves it from you and will grab your hand whenever he wants your attention. he enjoys teasing you, so much that you’ll give him the silent treatment as payback. he can deal with it for a maximum of five minutes before he’s grabbing your hand and pulling you towards him, apologizing, even though you both know he’s going to do it again. him teasing you even happened before the two of you got together. he would hold your hand unexpectedly to get a reaction and use it as hope that you felt the same way he did. he would reach out to you to compare his hand size to yours and when you least expected it, he would close his hand to wrap it around yours.

he reaches for the diaper, tearing the paper from the sticky taping on the edges. he bites his lip as he hears a gentle gurgle, desperate to stop himself from kissing the little face in front of his eyes for the 100th time of the day.
"i didn't think it should matter, considering you're actually one and i'm not." he continues smoothing the edges along the soft, supple skin- his fingers carefully trailing across the little one's bottom. mark tugs out the tiny fist from her toothless mouth, bringing it to his own lips instead for a quick peck.
"but like, it hurts you know? i really liked being called baby, but now it sounds weird." he laughs under his breath, and his daughter lets out a mix of a giggle and an excited splutter; sending flecks of spit all over her face. mark widens his eyes as he stares at his child, already overthinking about why she gave a cough.
"yo... you okay?"
she stared back blinking, her fingers returning in her mouth once again.
"damn," he murmurs as he picks the fragile figure in his arms, caressing the bubbly froth from her features slowly with his thumb. "i'll let you have my petname if you stop sucking your hand, alright?" he pulls her chubby fist away from her mouth once more, peppering her tiny face with soft kisses for the 101th time today.

[✿] — MARK. it is calming yet lively at the same time. endless chatter about whatever comes to your minds. or sometimes you’re just sharing a blissful moment of quietness, music very softly playing, when suddenly he loudly sings along which startles you and he hurriedly apologises before you both burst out laughing in amusement, and as laughter dies down and fades into lingering smiles, his hand finds yours, holding it gently and tracing your knuckles as he drives.
[✿] — RENJUN. bickering about which song to play in the car and ultimately using rock-paper-scissor to decide, except even when you lose, he begrudgingly chooses to play the song you wanted anyway. once, you’re both heartily singing along to the song and he gradually stops and simply listens to you sing your heart out with a smitten smile on his face, trying to keep his eyes on the road. and you don’t even realize that he has stopped singing along because you’re too immersed in the song; too immersed to notice the little, amused, affectionate glances at you as he falls in love all over again.
[✿] — JENO. he sometimes has this little habit of greeting you by ruffling your hair as soon as you get into the car before leaning forward to put the seatbelts on for you. you feeding him or holding the drink for him while he drives. him letting you put your legs on his lap as you take a nap. when he reverses the car, he uses only one hand and puts the other on the back of the passenger seat as he looks back — you couldn’t help but admire how effortlessly attractive he looks in such little moments.
[✿] — HAECHAN. playfully bickering, talking over each other and over the sound of the music until he grabs your face and shuts you up with a kiss when he reaches the stop light; remembering where you are only when someone honks, the traffic lights having turned again, and you both giving each other the ‘oh shit’ look before you drive away in a fit of giggles and laughter.
[✿] — JAEMIN. he does this thing where he slightly leans forward on the steering wheel and watches you get on the car with that adoring half-smile of his. on long drives, he always moves his hand from the car’s stick shift to your thigh and when you place your hand on top of his, he shoots you a brief glance then happily sighs as he looks back on the road.
[✿] — CHENLE. when you’re sad or down, he takes you on late-night drives; no destination in mind, windows rolled down, this feeling of peace and contentment as the wind messes your hair and brushes you skin. “where to?” you would drive aimlessly around the city. this is how you discover some of the best places to get food or to buy cool, random things at souvenir shops. there is always amazing conversation going on or you’re lost around the area and blaming each other, which only ends in pure laughter, whatever troubles on your mind forgotten.
[✿] — JISUNG. sunset drives where you flee the city and drive to the countryside; windows down, your favorite songs blaring, him holding your hand and pressing a lingering kiss on your palm and not quite letting go the whole drive. he glances at you a few too many times; you looking so carefree, wind blowing in your hair, the hazy orange glow of the golden hour falling on you beautifully; he thinks he couldn’t be more in love. you having to playfully scold him to keep his eyes on the road and him obeying with a bashful smile. and the drive goes on and on as you both bask in the sun.

you flipped over the board which now read 'closed' on the other side of the door. you heaved out a sigh of exhaustion as you finally closed the shop.
you turn around to leave, but spotted a familiar a male figure standing in front with his back facing you. "sir? may I help you?"
"oh, jisung?" you wore a confused smile on your face as you didn't expect him to be here at this hour. he turned to face you, his cheeks flushed to a light shade of pink when he made eye contact with you.
"hey, y/n" he shyly rubbed the nape of his neck.
"what brings you here?" you looked up at him with confusion in your eyes. after a slight pause, he finally answered your question.
"uhm, I actually wanted to tell you something," he hesitantly continued. "I like you. I love how you always take care of your dear ones, and help everybody out even though you know the fact that you won't get anything in return. I love how you don't care about what anyone says and do what you love to do. I really like you,"
he takes one of the flowers from the stand beside him and hands it to you, "will you go out with me?"
you smile with all your heart because of his confession, "you do know that you need to pay for this flower, right?"
you accept his flower and a hearty chuckle escapes your lips when you see jisung stuttering, not knowing how to respond to what you just said.
"i'm just kidding! and of course, I'll go out with you, sungie!"

the second bottle was a bitter finish, sore and rough on his throat— yet the effects were promising and evident. his head was swimming gloriously like a little fish in sea, being pushed around by the enormous waves in its vast waters.
the drink is now his best friend, his lover. he hoped you could see how much he was enjoying himself without you, how replaceable you were at the tip of his fingers. he hoped you were hurting as much as he was inside, he wanted you to feel it so badly that he felt like a monster— slowly tranfigurating from the devilish, burning liquid.
mark runs his fingers through his locks— desperately fighting off the thickening fog clouding his thoughts, swallowing him whole. the pound in his head was growing louder and louder, like drums echoing on the side on his temples; merciless and utterly deafening.
warm streams trickled down his cheeks- seeping between his dry, cracked lips in tangy bursts of salt. he feels like a fool, an absolute fucking moron who had lost in a battle with old father time himself— all because he hadn't paid enough attention on you, spent any moment he had with you left. it was all his fault that you've gotten so frustrated you cried yourself out the door, and like the idiot he was- he did nothing to stop you, nothing to hold you back and comfort your trembling figure.
he's paying his dues now, from all of the mistreatment and neglection he had showered upon you. it's taking him apart, and at this moment- he feels too selfish to let you go from his arms. in a haze, mark reaches for his phone, fingers shivering as he's anticipating to hear your sweet voice again. he already knew in his heart you'd never pick up, not after what he did to—

➷ [9:09 am] "zhong chenle! do you have any idea how long I've been searching for you?" you huffed as you made your way to a table of a couple of boys, doing what they always do — being chaotic.
all heads turned to where you stood, cradling what looked like a 'baby.' "what now?" he rolled his eyes as he sluggishly got up from his seat and faced you.
"this baby has been crying for the past 5 hours! I couldn't even sleep 'cause of the sound of its cries! and on top of that, it was your chance to take her home!" you tried handing the crying doll to him. while he tried to give it back to you.
lord knows what the teacher was thinking while pairing you with chenle, of all people, for the baby project.
"don't you guys know that the last person who has the baby with them gets extra points in their grade?" a tanned male who was sitting on the same table as chenle commented.
and that's when the chaos begins.
"you know what? It's fine! I'll take her home today as well!" you awkwardly chuckled as you tried to snatch the baby from chenle's grip.
"no, y/n. you were right! it was my turn to take the baby home, and I should do so!" he faked a sincere tone as he tried to stop you from getting a hold of the baby.
"ow"
the whole table said in unison as they witnessed a fake baby dislocate its head from the rest of its body, which left the two of you agape.
haechan got up from his seat, eyeing the dislocated parts of the doll in you guys' hands. he patted his friend's back and gave you both a pitiful smile,
"I can already smell the 'F' in your grade sheets."
