The Starlite Motel’s much beloved “Diving Lady” is back in action after being destroyed in a 2010 windstorm. One of the few remaining animated neon signs in the nation, others done in by neglect, changing times, and unfavorable city ordinances, the “Diving Lady” could have gone the way of others if not for a remarkable donation campaign and a farsighted city council ruling to grandfather the animation.
