Challenging the sprained ankle in numerous ways is important to ensure the ankle regains full stability to meet the demands of sports. Often times ankle sprains linger for a long time because the ankle never regains full strength. 🙋Here are some exercises I like to use in the mid stages of rehabbing ankle sprains. ◾️The research shows we need about 10 degrees of ankle dorsiflexion for normal gait mechanics.
◾️On the other hand, if you are an avid gym goer, Olympic weightlifter, powerlifter, crossfitter, or just a person who likes to squat, you are going to want a lot more...like 30-40 degrees.
