Craving academic validation, how do you deal with it when you don’t achieve what you set up for yourself?

Im someone who so deeply craves academic validation, but I just avoid checking my grades whenever I can because I’m petrified that they‘re not what I wanted therefore I just hope that I did well. And to make sure I did well I always sink into academic work, giving it more than I can. Unless I cry I didn‘t do enough. Now some may say this is unhealthy, but I say:“ you‘re not wrong but I‘m going to have to shut you down on that.“
