A little backstory, the Peggy Martin rose was a rose that survived the 20th or floodwaters of Hurricane Katrina. 

All Peggy Martin roses are identical genetically and have all been propagated from that same exact rose! 

It’s a thornless climber that is absolutely easy to grow and beginner friendly. 

All you need:
☀️full sun! Roses need 6-8 hours of sun in order to prevent fungal diseases and for best bloom. 

🫡a climbing structure. Climbing roses don’t actually “climb” they kind of sprawl and creep. So, minimal training is required, eventually your Peggy will have a thick trunk but initially a trellis or something is helpful.

One of the easiest plants to grow in Houston.  They survive triple digits and the freeze. 

This rose has a special history as it was one of the only plants that survived at Peggy Martin’s home (an avid gardener) after Hurricane Katrina.  Now, it’s available to all of us home gardeners.
