The Reading Mentor / Teacher / Tutor on Instagram: "🔸In English, the letter ‘s’ at the end of a base word can be pronounced as either /s/ (voiceless) or /z/ (voiced) depending on its position in a word and the sounds around it.

🔹When the letter ‘s’ is after an unvoiced sound, it is pronounced as a /s/. e.g., tops, works, laughs, moths.

🔹When the letter ‘s’ is after a voiced sound, it is pronounced as a /z/ sound.
e.g., logs, tubes, beds, moves, clothes.
