The saves folder can be found within the appdata/local folder.

There aren't any plans to make it any different to fill out, but...
Fortunately, if you navigate to the saves folder,  you can modify the progress folder files. There, you can simply input the names of the enemy json you are missing.

The visitations file can be modified with the values as such: ts_inside(#) (Accepted values for # are 1-10. No parenthesis.)

Hello from CMCDEV.

In regards to mod making, content creation, and using the characters within our games, this subject will generally fall under CC-by-NC.
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/

This will not affect currently existing free-to-download content, nor will it affect any other free content.

Some characters do not fall under this category:

- Plain, Naru (Owned by RIORAO)

- Visor, Mirrim (Owned by Pulse)

- Yuko (Owned by JJ2)

- Mitsuro (Owned by Jirachi6774)

For the characters above, you should contact their respective owners.

At this time, we do not have plans for selling our games for any price. Thus, we would prefer that fan-made material using our original content reciprocate by also being free to access for all.

We cannot list every single instance in which it is allowed or disallowed, so it may be up for personal interpretation.

If a page displays a payment option question before the fan-made content is accessible, whether the user can opt to skip it or input a number to pay, we are generally uncomfortable with such.

Thank you for playing our game and showing continued interest in them with fan works. We hope you will look forward to a Ghosts & Japes 2.1 update that has been in the works on and off while we have been busy with other things in life.

Hello! Please do not sell altered sprites of our game's content. We design these games to be free, and so selling mods for it goes against what we stand for.

I would ask that you remove the section that asks you to name a price to pay, or set it to explicitly be free, but people are allowed to donate, instead.

Thank you.

Saving is not based on kills. The game saves when you go up a floor. Dying on a floor will reset the current floor progress, yes.

JSON parse error means the json is not formatted properly.
Use a json validator website to check the file, then you can correct any mistakes it finds.

These issues are known and was an oversight from modifying damage values.
The damage was increased, but the "love_value_until_defeat" wasn't changed.

The intended values are as follows:
"love_value": 240
"love_value_until_defeat": 1000

Zahra also doesn't quite behave normally with 'absorbed' dialogue, because she doesn't actually have any absorbed dialogue.

I did some testing and I couldn't replicate the interrupted dialogue.

It's fixed for next update, it seems.

It requires the endosomatic heart buyable, some ghosts are not befriendable.

Might need a bit more context here, it seems to do with enemy spawning.

Is the game modified in any way? Any particular actions taken by enemies (Like having shot projectiles to spawn other enemies or something.) or by you before going in?

Was the power outage active? Room cleared?

Hello, please check the documentation for details...

Noted.

;>

It is currently not possible to check for specific damage value thresholds...

At the current time, you can set one damage type per eat sequence animation.

There will be.

I would recommend deleting the \AppData\Local\Ghosts_and_Japes folder, as much of the save structure had changed and it's attempting to read invalid data.

The music is currently stored within the game files, and isn't accessible from the resources.
We may eventually move it there, but it isn't guaranteed.

(Apologies for the delay in responding, the post wasn't approved for some reason.)

It won't function in the updated game properly, you would have to manually transfer over the data within the save file.
You could also just, enable debug, and move yourself up that many floors. How to do so is in the documentation.

But I would recommend just playing it through, as much has changed from version 1.0 to version 2.0.

It's just a game to play, that we wanted to make.

Cause it'd be fun.

For CharcuterieMINI, it depends.
Being able to play as a pred is planned, and doable, but not every creature will be able to do so.

Overall we'll still be trying to design the games according to gameplay over galleries, and if there is a gallery, we'd like there to be objectives to complete for such.

The save files are just encrypted in base64. Notepad++ has a plugin for decryption.
I applaud your efforts though!

The Bloboomi does not spawn during the Honeygast fight.

Status effects are hardcoded within Ghosts & Japes, and there is currently no way to add your own.

This will not be the case in some other projects, and may eventually change in this game as well.

At no point is the cause of death stated for all ghosts, the edibility of enemies does not change, neither does befriendability.
The point of it was also stated already.

Not sure what you mean by omitting items.

We originally thought of having a map, but decided against including it in the base game. Currently there is one, but it's only for debug mode and not meant for actual gameplay.

Permanent transformations are something we don't plan on, but maybe for very few exceptions.

The bottom room has a 50/50 chance of being a boss, or a horde room, but we may have other boss changes in the future.

As for surrendering, that's already accomplished via not struggling.

A box trap does sound interesting...

The gameplay is not designed around being able to move while eating, as you're supposed to be vulnerable during such.

Allowing you to eat inedible things defeats the purpose of being able make them inedible in the first place, and we aren't making non-befriendable enemies befriendable via an extra item either.

If someone wants to eat something inedible, they will have to modify the json itself.

There will not be a game function to bypass those settings.

For the first idea, the only way we can have moving while eating is if it's more like a "scoot," as movement while in the eating state would break a buncha things...

We can have challenge modes, but inedible enemies will always be inedible. This is for modder and player comfort. As some modded enemies are pred-only type characters.

We can probably buff the blue flame item to increase stun time as well, to make it more valuable.

The power does not come back on during a blackout.

Wrong account, oops.

Look in Mitsuro's Json file, and do a CTRL + F search for "damage_before_detach"
Then, modify the value to be 9999.

Thank you for playing!

(1 edit)

The above crash is known and will be fixed in 2.1.
Occurs due to "damage_before_detach" triggering at the same time as the ghost dying.
This won't typically trigger for Honeygast, as they utilize damage phases rather than "damage_before_detach."

For the time being, I recommend just disabling that. (By removing that line, or modifying the value to be 9999.)

As for Fang's grabbed sprite not glowing, this is intentional.
This occurs for Kamnspi, and one other ghost as well.

Check the documentation for what you can or cannot do.

Not enough information to work from this.
Debug mode also exists, check the documentation.

There are no plans to design or port our games to mobile.

That one's on the fixes todo list, a small oversight when changing the character.

Thank you!

That one's unintentional. Zahra's supposed to have different love values, as her damage was updated to be higher before the game was released, but the love values were not updated to compensate.

The "love_value" is supposed to be 240,  while "love_value_before_defeat" is supposed to be 1000.

You'll need a buyable item for that. It looks akin to the icon that plays when you don't struggle.

The ghosts struggle just like you do, you'd need to weaken them first.

You'll need insatiable desire to do that.

We're working on uploading the soundtrack, you can find it here:
