Thanks for playing!
Don't worry, I also do the same with repetitive phrases, it didn't bother me in your video. Practice makes perfect!
Your game was very nice, I liked the atmosphere of it!
Super last minute since there are less than 24 hours left, but would appreciate it if you get to try out our game today 😄You're Not Welcome to Rennville by Distant Dimensions
Hey everyone!
As the jam draws to a close, I thought I'd take some time to share some submissions I loved playing! I wish I had time to play more of the games, but I have played and rated over 50, so while I can't say whether or not these games are the best entries, they are some of my favourites that I personally tried. So...
I absolutely loved this game! The art and atmosphere are so beautiful, complimented by the sound design and music. The puzzles were fun with interesting mechanics that slowly get taught and introduced. I liked how the visuals of the levels changed along the journey, and I could definitely play a full game like this!
Another puzzle game (I LOVE puzzles) with a very interesting mechanic. I loved the subtle animations that bring what would otherwise be a simple art style to life. While I do think the game could do with a bit of difficulty balancing, I managed to solve all the levels before becoming too frustrated, so it was very rewarding!
At first glance I thought this was going to be a simple game (nothing to do with the graphics or anything, just the gameplay) but this game is actually sooooo fun! It has a clever little gameplay loop that is very challenging and gives the player a lot of choices on how to best manage their gameplay. It's a fun little arcade style game that I definitely recommend giving a go!
Another game with a beautiful art style, and what really impressed me were the smooth animations of the character and the plants, which added a lot to the main gameplay mechanic. Personally, I'd like to see an updated version of this game with more challenges and elements added as I did find it quite easy, but still a very unique and enjoyable experience!
Last but not least, we have a cute game about an unlikely hero - a crocodile choosing to guide ducklings (that would usually be tasty little snacks) back to their mom. The concept and art of this game is so cute, and the balancing of the game was also well done with enough difficulty to make it challenging but not frustrating. I managed to get all but one duck to the end, so try it out and see if you can beat me!
Lastly I want to say, if I played your game and it didn't make it to this list, please don't be discouraged! I played a lot of good games, and these are just some of my favourites and best in my personal opinion.
I've realized it's going to be the same with whoever wins the judges picks as well as the community vote, because ultimately what makes someone like a game over another is personal preference. For example, someone might like realistic graphics over stylised graphics, or fast action games over slow story games.
Whatever wins, everyone should be proud of the effort they put into making an experience they enjoy, because that's what game development is all about! Good luck everyone!
Thanks for sharing, soups art style really stood out to me when I played it, and it's cool to see how you achieved the effect. As someone who also doesn't do much speaking, I know the struggles, but you spoke well! The best feedback I can give is just keep making videos and you'll improve each time as you get more used to it. I Another tip, I find cutting out when I leave a long pause or say "um" a lot helps make the video feel more engaging and makes me sound like I'm more of a professional speaker, but at the end of the day how you edit your videos is up to you ;)
Not sure if you have rated my game yet, but here's the link if you'd like to give it a try! You're Not Welcome to Rennville by Distant Dimensions
Thak you, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, unfortunately we ran out of time to implement all the sound fx we wanted to. The platforming also does need some work, I was thinking of ways to try implement coyote time in the game engine, but I also ran out of time to do so. Thanks again for playing and the feedback!
Hi! I've been trying to play through a lot of the games, but I see I haven't got to yours yet. Looks cool, so I'll try it soon!

This is a really cool little arcade style gameplay loop! I managed to survive 10 days in this crazy town haha! I like the graphics and sounds as well, it was all a nice consistent style. My only criticism would be that it does get very hard very quickly. Just a few indicators to the player might be a good idea, like knowing when an enemy is about to shoot, knowing where they're going to shoot (I felt like they were going in all random directions), and maybe a marker above a townsperson when they have been waiting too long. Otherwise, amazing addicting little game!
Unfortunately, the game was very laggy in the web version, but I know that's because of how Unity handles big web builds. I liked the western theme and the lasso mechanic, although I would have liked to be using it more often. Still, I know it must have been quite hard to program the lasso function!
Very nice art style and character design! It reminds me of children's books like Winnie-the-Pooh and Peter Rabbit. It was also a unique choice to make certain props pop in and out as you approach, like a pop up book. The music was also nice, and I liked the interpretation of the theme and over all story of the return journey after a quest.
Interesting concept, I like navigating through the levels. Having the option to zoom out your view was a good decision, because otherwise I think I might have gotten lost. The music choice is good too. At first I thought it was going to be too repetitive, but different instruments slowly get added in and it sounds quite nice.
