I had that too, and the problem was that at an earlier point, when you're thinking about the apartment shooting (while you're in the park, I think?) you have to say that you feel bad about it. Otherwise you're not open enough to others to live through groceries.

He's just dropping us into the Void, yeah (I assume this is what he means when he threatens his brothers with a timeout). If you want more detail, skip getting groceries and see what happens at bedtime. (There's also a shorter one if you get groceries but try to skedaddle instead of letting him carry them.)

Oh yeah, me too. He got riled up when he heard "risk"... because it sounds like "Frisk" I bet.
