Thanks for the video and the critiques 😅.
I'm still working on the game, but I tried to make the page and submit quickly because today is the last day.
I've added another cool weapon and fixed the upgrades issue.
I will be more than happy if you will try it again after the jam timing ends (final copy will be uploaded).
Thank you for the feedback! I’m glad you liked the graphical style and retro aesthetic. I’ll look into fixing the bugs you mentioned, especially the sliding section and collectibles stuck in the scenery.
Your insights are really helpful for improving the game. Thanks for taking the time to share them!
Thank you so much for your kind words and constructive feedback!
I’m glad you enjoyed the mechanics despite the challenge; it’s all part of the fun! I’ll definitely work on fixing the parallax effect and improving the visibility of the blue spikes.
Adding full keyboard navigation is a great suggestion, and I’ll look into implementing it in the next update.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!
Thanks for your feedback and encouraging words. Glad you had fun playing it.
I've been off game development for over 2 years, but I guess I'm back on track now.
Actually yes, it was inspired by Brotato and the Binding of Isaac; I love both games. I wanted to create a game with the same gaming mechanics as Brotato but in the same time has some of the aspects of Binding of Isaac.
I still have more to put in it and will announce updates soon.
Thanks again.
First of all, let me tell you how impressed I am with your eye-catching artwork and art style. I want to congratulate you on a work well done and presented.
I'm a full-time employee (7 AM - 4:30 PM 🥲). I'm thankful to my job for paying my bills and rent. But my passion that I discovered during the lockdown was game development. I managed to release my first short game in 2021; you can check it out CABOUS. I started working on another project but got busy with work projects that I would get home exhausted and just want to sleep.
- Time management is my first challenge as a full-time employee and part-time game developer.
- Maintaining your relationships with people during the development period is another challenge.
- Maintaining your health by sparing time to work/exercise and eating healthily is also a major issue.
I believe if you're determined to do something, you will eventually do it anyway. However, still, you don't have to overkill yourself because it will eventually get you backlash by feeling down for not producing the final project. At least, that's what I felt.
That's all on my mind for now.
Wishing you all the best with your game.
