I LOVE the way they depicted the concept of soulmates with Jayce and Viktor. See it how you will, but the connection of ‘across space and time’ is exactly how i always envisioned it.
Everything, down to your very essence, tied to another’s. The concept of time, space and reality itself doesn’t settle unless those two halves combine. Meet somewhere in the middle and make something beautiful.
idk man, every timeline and every possibility is gorgeous and makes me cry ok
love that jayce, in the majority of the jayvik fandom, is mainly a bottom (the man switches, yeah, but he still takes it the majority of the time). Like have you SEEN him lay on any lap available? Love my pathetic, ‘gifted child to overwhelmed prodigy’ pipeline son.
One of my favorite scenes in Arcane involves Viktor running on the dock.
Now I haven’t been physically disabled for most of my life. My joint pain (knees, a shoulder, my ankles) only came around a few years ago. Some days are bad, some days are worse.
The idea that one day I woke up and NOTHING hurt, that I could just *start running anywhere*, is insane, even if I haven’t been like this my entire life. And Viktor hadn’t ever had a taste of being normally abled like I did.
I can only IMAGINE what was going through his head - no wonder the bastard was so hesitant yet cautiously joyous. That scene is such a gut-punch, for him AND a watching, disabled viewer.
making myself cry at the thought of post-fall, time skip, hannigram moment where in one of the quiet evenings they share, Hannibal found his gaze lingering on the few strands of white in Will's hair and the wrinkles beginning to form on his face. him taking in the sight, relishing the realization that he and Will are growing old together. fuck
crying loudly in the corner
There’s only a few times we see Viktor cry in Arcane. But the one that sticks with me the most is in the Counil Room, when Jayce is fighting one of Viktor’s robots. They’ve just had the exchange,
“Let us do this once more, as partners.”
‘My partner died in this room.’
Before Jayce hits the robot with a blast from his hammer. The robot hits the ground, and a *single tear* rolls down its cheek.
Viktor was fully under the influence of the hexcore by then. He was going BBEG mode, and yet the betrayal from Jayce still made him *shed a tear*. Through a NEWLY MECHANICAL PUPPET, mind you.
He was overwhelmingly upset that Jayce didn’t want to be by his side anymore.
You ever think Jayce used to get REALLY stressed out about Council meetings, and Viktor’s solution was never ‘let’s sit and talk about this’ but instead tried to give Jayce a reprieve? Go on coffee dates, take a ride around Piltover on horse-back or something. Hell, just go to the lab for a few hours and pretend time hadn’t changed.
You think Jayce knew Viktor was uncomfortable being open about issues, even between them, and realized those 'outings’ were Viktor’s attempt to help him? And that made him love Viktor MORE???
normal wedding rings for couples in fiction is FINEEE. Totally great, actually.
BUT WHAT ABOUT SIGNIFIGANT OBJECTS, HUH. WHAT ABOUT WEDDING BAND METHODS UNIQUE TO THE COUPLE.
My favorite two examples are Hannigram and Jayvik.
Hannibal and Will, in a lot of fanfictions, will scar their ring fingers instead of wearing bands. It’s permanent, it’s obsessive, and it’s batshit insane. Suits them perfect.
Jayvik (and one of my favorite headcanons about them of all time) fashion the gear from their first project together into their rings. One half for each, melted down in Jayce’s forge. It represents their dream and (and least according to me) when they realized they’d spend the rest of their lives together.
