while watching the direct i got really excited by Mario Kart world but then i remembered i already own a game that has everything i want out of Mario Kart world and the name of that game is burnout Paradise and the feeling passed
I think there’s plenty of room for a good open-world racing game right now. Might not be what Mario Kart fans are after but as a Mario Kart not-fan this is the most interested I’ve been in a Mario Kart game since they invented Mario Kart.

I don't want to be a cynical gamer type but I'll admit I was a bit excited about the idea of getting a Switch 2 in the run up to the direct.
But now I think maybe I should finally just buy a Steam Deck.
I’m not weird enough to say that this spells trouble for Nintendo or anything, but I will say I’ve been seeing various forms of this sentiment a lot today.
