I understand how you feel but I’d advice you from calling it “offputting” since that can be seen as insensitive to people of that size. I used a reference of a model (see the image blow) in this case so the size is very much based on a real person that has that body type.
This is the reference in question. I get that you might see May as a different body type and that’s 100% valid, but I want to make it clear that I’d never draw a character intentionally thin due to any bad intentions. I often follow the official art, and if there’s room for interpretation I might adjust some things due to my own headcanons. I take body positivity very seriously and would never try to glorify or shame certain bodytypes.
