Guiding Chan up to your childhood bedroom was stressful to say the least. His hand in yours acted like an anchor, and somehow the weight of his palm made your breathing steadier. You knew your parents were still watching, you could feel their eyes on your backs, and all you could think about was if they knew. Did they catch onto your lie? Could they tell that you and Chan weren’t a couple? Of course they knew, how couldn’t they—

“Hey,” Chan whispered, tugging on your hand to stop you. He stood on the step below yours, way too close for you to stay sane, and lightly pressed his chest to the dip of your back. It felt like a perfect fit. “I’m going to spin you around and pick you up, okay?”

Your brows furrowed. “I don’t think—”

But before you could protest, he already had a firm grip on your hips and was turning you to face him. Your cheeks were ablaze while he grinned up at you, and for a second you completely forgot about the stress of the party and keeping your parents oblivious and your stupid cousins ruining the secret. It was just Chan.

And just Chan was pretty nice.

Until he was slipping one arm under your knees and lifting you off the ground way too easily. You protested with various complaints but Chan simply continued up the stairs with a fond chuckle.
