been very absent from tumblr and really wish my coming back on wasn’t because of this heartbreaking news but this community is why i started watching b99 and is where my life changed.
i’m so devastated, i had a conversation only days ago about the genius of andre braugher. how his delivery of captain holt brought me so much laughter and joy. the fact that he did not get an emmy for his portrayal is just insane. what an unbelievably talented man and from what we’ve heard from those who really knew him, what an incredibly kind man he was as well.

andre brought something so special to brooklyn nine-nine and holt will always, always be remembered as one of the all time great comedy characters. it is a special and rare thing to have such a resounding gravitas, incredible dramatic prowess, and the ability to be as chaotic and silly and playful as this silly show let him be. he is at the center of so many of the show’s greatest moments (both comedic and emotional) and he will be missed terribly ❤️
