Yesterday I posted about how to make salt dough cutout skulls. Today’s post is about how to make simple little skulls with the left over scraps. Step 1: Roll the dough into a little ball about a half to three quarter inches in diameter. Step2: Press the center of the ball down just enough to flatten it a bit. Here’s another cookie hack for spooky season!
Recipe:
Ingredients:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup almond flour
• 3/4 tsp fine sea salt
• 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
• 2/3 cup sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 egg
• Zest of 1 lemon
• Powdered sugar, for dusting
• Jam (any flavor) for filling
Method:
1. In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, almond flour, and salt.
2. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract, egg, and lemon zest. Mix until combined.
3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and combine into a dough.
4. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and chill for 30-60 minutes.
