Okay but like for there to be good news there has to be bad news. Not too many people beside the reading challenge discord I run and admin know that in September ‘24 I sprained my ENTIRE foot. Did not know this was possible. Thought only ankle was possible. Nope. Want a pic? Bet you do.

for no reason whatsoever here’s a reminder that if you consider yourself a leftist/punk/abolitionist/anarchist/radical in any sort of way and get called into jury duty, you are to become the most square person on earth during the jury questionnaire!!!
don’t be that guy who says fuck the police in the jury questionnaire! that just gets you sent home! if you want to generate change, interact with the case and use your jury vote for good! ESPECIALLY if it’s a high profile case!
Remember, when you’re on the jury, a good “that cop’s story didn’t add up” will sway a lot more Chads and Karens than “fuck the police.”

btw brazilians and colombians get significantly lower quality coffee for a way higher price than in the european nations to which it gets exported. over 80% of brazilian coffee leaves the nation, and the price of coffee in brazil has recently skyrocketed, despite the fact that it is responsible for 38% of the world’s yearly coffee production.
theres some 500 years of history on why that is, which you should read, but it is somewhat sufficient to keep in mind that the first world requires the exploitation of the third to maintain its luxuries.
I’m a historian of colonialism and it fully made me quit my profession how depressing it is. Same shit, different month, country, independent state, independent peoples… YEAH.
I still like to teach about it but my mental health has no time to be trying to butt heads with assholes over facts.
Oh that’s a tumbler or roller pigeon! They’re bred to do this! It’s believed that the original inclination to tumble in the air was a tactic to avoid being caught by flying predators, then this inclination was bred in favor of doing it more. Some breeds can also fly normally for hours as well, and the most sound breeds are those that can make safe landings still. There’s whole shows and competitions around tumbler pigeons!
There’s more unsound breeds of course as well, but this one clearly has good control of its flight and landing. Well done pigeon!
