using this ask as an excuse to talk about my interpretation of blueberror.
his name is blazar and instead of being kidnapped by error he’s specifically the same swap sans that was part of the star sanses. he was turned into an error after he got too close to error (in my verse, if error’s too stressed out and glitching if he touches someone he’ll corrupt their code. error wasn’t aware of this before though)

finally came up with a name and more designs for this au.
basic gist is that, instead of being sealed underground, monsters were put under a curse by the mages that limits the amount of magic they can have at a time, basically making them unable to actively use any magic because they barely have enough to survive. the curse also prevents monsters from absorbing human souls
however monsters found a loophole around this, only the monsters present during the war were put under the curse, so any offspring born after aren’t cursed. unfortunately this is deadly to the parents as it takes all of their magic to make a kid, usually leading to them dying once the kid is born
as a result the monster population is very scarce and it’s typical that everyone’s a single child
