  • I always want to write for new fandoms, but then I start writing and think, “Oh, this would be cute for Stanman” and get stuck. But then if I try to go back to my Stanman stuff, I’m like, “Man, I should try something else. No one wants to read Stanman forever.” It’s a never-ending trap 🪤😵‍💫

  • Been watching anime romance movies 🍿A Silent Voice was so sweet, but I think I liked Your Name even better. Both definitely had their melodrama, and Your Name gets a little confusing with the time jumps (not really my favourite trope, but I do have fun with the body switching). Now I’m watching Weathering with You 🌧️☀️

  • With that being said, the nerd in me 🤓 wants to get back to my fandoms too.

  • I’d kind of forgotten about this account. It’s been a while!

I got some time off work last month, and I heard there would be a winter storm in a certain location, so of course I had to go see it. I love the depths of nature where no other human is because I’ve always connected to landscapes and animals in ways I struggle to with people.

That was a magical, peaceful week. I had to walk carefully, and I counted numerous deer trails 🦌, though my favourite was the fox I spotted 🦊 I saw no bears, but I knew they were nearby 🐻 At some point, all the ice on the trees started to melt and drop these fantastic, overwhelming cold showers onto my head. Everything was transformed as soon as the temperature rose, revealing purple, blue, and yellow flowers under the surface of ice. Even hordes of insects began to emerge from the wet tree bark when they felt the warmth 🐜

    This world is a gift.

  • Sometimes I enjoy posting anonymous fics to Ao3 because I love work that isn’t judged on anything but the writing itself (not on the person’s past work, other fandoms, blog posts, etc.) And omg it’s been SO rewarding with the last few fics! 😭 People are legit writing me multiple book-length comments connecting with my writing across several different fandoms 💘 Read one this morning that rebuilt my entire heart. Something about that anonymity sometimes brings out such vulnerability and emotion in readers ❤️

  • Acknowledging that “critical thinking” means “thinking about things in a thorough way from different perspectives” and not “finding every flaw in a thing and fixating on it until all the joy is gone” is so liberating.

It’s supposed to be about intellectual curiosity, not about finding ways to devalue things that aren’t perfect or that we personally dislike.
