    about me

hi! you can call me Saph. 23F. Christian. pro-life. left-leaning. autistic. hot mess. crazy cat lady. enjoyer of classic rock. occasional self-shipper. amateur artist.

I believe that Christ is King, abortion is murder, russia is a terrorist state, Black lives matter, and Israel and Palestine both have an equal right to exist. all are welcome here (except for hamasniks and russophiles), but you are free to block me if my views are a deal breaker for you, and I wish you nothing but the best. (before you come into my inbox, my bio is a reference to a song by ā€œWeirdā€ Al Yankovic.)

my main fandoms include JJBA, Splatoon, and Wings of Fire, as well as a bit of Star Trek. I also enjoy classic rock and Polish/Ukrainian/general Slavic culture.

I finished the quilt Iā€™m gifting to my daughter. She is having her first baby., I have not washed this yet. It still has chaulk lines. I am pleased how this turned out.

contrary to popular belief i think calvinā€™s adhd is, funnily enough, medicated. he takes extended release ritalin every morning alongside his chocolate frosted sugar bombs. this is because he appreciates being more easily able to focus on his various Schemes, Projects, and Machinations while more effectively ignoring schoolwork

calvinā€™s dad pulling up to the house and seeing the whole driveway covered in a (completed) snowman recreation of the entire terracotta army and he takes a deep breath and greets calvinā€™s mom with ā€œi see calvin remembered his methylphenidate todayā€

#lmaoooo yeah #there should be a strip where calvin does a long extended monolougue about the philosophical implications of being #dependent on medication in order to function in society #and then at the end hobbes is like ā€œso just donā€™t take it then?ā€ #and calvin is like ā€œno if I donā€™t take it i canā€™t focus enough on watching TV. now help me get this bottle open.ā€ #AND thereā€™s a running gag where calvinā€™s parents keep finding his pill bottles like. completely shredded instead of opened normally #and theyā€™re convinced that calvin just puts his pill bottles in the garbage disposal to open them (bc they have a childproof cap) #but calvin is very insistent that that hobbes is the one opening them with his tiger claws #theyā€™re like ā€œdonā€™t open the bottles by yourself calvin!!! you need adult supervision!!!ā€ #and Hobbes is like ā€œI think a tigerā€™s supervision is superior to adult supervision. weā€™re much smarterā€ #etc etc etc #a goldmine of opportunities #calvin and hobbes]

Can we not spread harmful misinformation during April for ONE fucking year. The puzzle piece symbol is important to a ton of autistic folks.

WE STILL NEED AUTISM AWARENESS!! We need awareness for HrSN autistics, we need awareness for BIPOC autistics, we need awareness for nonverbal autistics, we need awareness for intellectually disabled autistics, we need awareness for late diagnosed autistics. WE NEED AUTISM AWARENESS AND ACCEPTANCE.

One time I was wearing my šŸ§© hoodie, not Autism Speaks Hoodie and had meltdown and cop understood because he say šŸ§© that I was autistic and knew to behave differently. He even told Dad he would of restrained or tackled had he not known I was autistic because was violent meltdown. šŸ§© Is still needed for many.

Agree agree agree . Is for same reason guardian Wizard encourage Pixie for to wear Pixies Special Olympics hoodie , because it makes them people more likely to be kind and not shoot thems guns at Pixie .

Them are both powerful symbols , Specifically for IDD , developmental disability and intellectual disability people . autism speaks is not only group that use puzzle . yes really !

Us, arriving to Austria to a tiny family hotel owned by an elderly lady

    Us: speak only limited German

    Lady: barely speaks English

    Us:

    Lady:

    Lady: Czech? Slovak?

    Us: Czech

Lady, to herself: Czech, thatā€™s a Slavic language right

    Lady: understand Yugoslavian?

    Us:

    Us: yeah that works

Shit like this can really only happen in Europe. Reminds me of the time I took my best shot at ordering at a restaurant in Spain in spanish. The closest language to spanish that I actually speak is latin.

    Waiter: Germany?

    Me: No, Czechia.

Waiter, in a heavily accented but intelligible Czech: Why didnā€™t you say so before! We get you guys here all the time!

JĆ” v roce 2019 na Ukrajině: OK, takže když použiju tohle staročeskĆ½ slovo, přidĆ”m polskĆ½ sloveso, svĆ© chabĆ© znalosti zĆ”horĆ”Ätiny a řeknu to s ruskym pÅ™Ćzvukem, tak to projde.

[Me in 2019 in Ukraine: ok so if i use this Old Czech word, add a Polish verb, my poor knowledge of the ZƔhorie dialect of Slovak and say it with a Russian accent, it might pass]

Reminds me of the time when we were in Poland and I tried to order a burger using a truly unholy mix of Slovak, Russian and Ostrava dialect (which in itself is like an unholy mix of Czech and Polish).

    I did get the burger

    [#my grandpa called this ā€œSlavic Esperantoā€]

I know Ukrainians who can do this on purpose and masterfully, and it was mind-blowing to hear a speech as immediately understandable to an audience of native speakers of three different native Slavic languages, not just two languages as is common

During one student exchange I (a Pole) got acquainted with two students from Czechia and Russia. At first we talked in English or German, but after a while weā€™ve noticed, that we could understand each otherā€™s native languages just fine. And if some word was unknown in one language, another one had the right synonym.

*Each of us talking in their mother tongue*

    Me: Bla bla bla.

    Russian: I donā€™t know this ā€œblaā€.

Czech: Oh, we have ā€œblaā€! We also call it ā€œthatā€!

    Russian: Oh I know ā€œthatā€! Itā€™s a very old version of ā€œthisā€.

Me: Oh, we have ā€œthisā€ too, but it means something slightly different.

German acquaintance: Was fĆ¼r nen ScheiƟ zieht ihr da ab? o_O

the reason there arenā€™t slavic people in the bible is that they wouldnā€™t have been surprised or awed to hear the disciples speak in tongues and be understood by people of many nations at once

Slavs walked away from the Tower of Babel mildly inconvenienced.
