now that i don’t have to wake up every day at 9 am to take my meds my body naturally decided i had to sleep all day. which is not really fun because it’s cold at night and i like being awake during the day but i was just soooo tired.
ALSOOO i wrote a fanfic and actually published it on ao3 for once. basically smutty wow thingy. i have to add it to my website n stuff. idk if anyone wants to read it it’s super self indulgent but if like fairshaw and you also like genn greymane…uhh lemme know

And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damage…
Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.
He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.
It’s incredibly sad people have to resort to this, but it’s a damn good resource. Use it. Spread awareness. Maybe one day people with physical disabilities won’t need DIYs like this. But until then, reblog and share.
And important piece of context is that one of the reasons why mobility devices like wheelchairs are so expensive is that they are often (not always— the medical industry is full of grifters) designed to, and constructed to incredibly exacting ergonomic standards because if you’re in a wheelchair, you’re going to be in it for incredibly extensive periods of time, and a poorly designed chair that you sit in for 8+ hours a day can do incredible damage to your body, and even having the wheels being at the wrong orientation could encourage horrible repetition/stress injuries.
If you can hurt your hands from a poorly designed gaming controller for 3-4 hours, or even hurt your feet from walking in bad shoes for a couple of hours, imagine what a poorly designed thing that interacts with the whole body continuously for months can do to fuck up a body.
While some mobility aid is still better than no mobility aid, it’s important that this disclaimer and understanding be spread with this post, because it’s not immediately obvious on the website that these could cause long term damage if used for any serious amount of time, and I can easily see someone not familiar with wheelchairs making and donating one or more of these, and as a result causing serious injury.
Even a chair being bent a little wrong can fuck up your spine with long enough usage, and I’m going to be honest — a lot of those 90/70 degree angle seats are not ergonomic at all and would likely result in incredible worsening chronic pain/injury, and probably wouldn’t be suited for people with like, many kinds of spinal injuries, etc.
Better than nothing, but still possibly dangerous, so be careful please.

Ive been trying to get some cash for months but I can never reach my larger goals because I blink and have to cover a bill or the posts stagnate and I lose money in the meantime. I feel so suicidal and exhausted. idk do people just not fucking remember the tunblr raids that happened many many years ago during the early days of tumblr that originated from 4chan? where the tags and people’s inboxes got flooded with irl gore images and shit like that. this was during the superwholock days. when tumblr was actually popping off and popular and well known for it’s social justice shit. when caring about other people was considered to be ultra cringe and every white cunt on youtube was saying the fucking n word and getting away with it. 4chan saw a bunch of little girls and boys on a website having fun with their fandoms and caring about social issues and was like “yeah lets traumatise them for fun”. and you cunts have the audacity to say it’s just like any other website with racists on? reddit was not doing that shit and neither was facebook im sorry but the people on 4chan were a special kind of fucked up and racist. it very much WAS ground zero for all of the horrible shit you see now on the internet and to pretend like it’s not is fucking stupid as shit.
