The worst thing about speaking a language natively is that your brain will insist on applying the Rules™ even when there’s nothing to go on. You can look at a damn keysmash and some chthonic gremlin in a little professor hat living in the back of your skull will go “I think that one’s a verb”.
In the interest of full disclosure, this post was prompted by overthinking why some variations of the “she eben on my nezer til I scrooge” template meme work and others don’t, and how sometimes it’s because it just doesn’t seem plausible that a given piece of gibberish could be a sex act.

I’ve been buying cheap little bits of wood at thrift stores to make paintings on. Originally this

a small bit of wood cut to resemble a pumpkin with a wooden sign in front of it. the wooden sign has the words trick or treat painted on it in decorative script.

Now this

the same piece of wood turned 90° and flipped over. now the pumpkin shape has been reused as a speech bubble, with the text I'm trying to say something and I'm not going to say it in an empty room. around the speech bubble there are little symbols of positivity like the Facebook thumbs up and a heart button and a Kudos button from AO3

the setup for miniature wheel throwing. a small pottery wheel with a one and a half inch disc on a larger metal box, a collection of curved and pointy clay tools, a sponge, and a bowl of water. they are all set up neatly before work.

my first two tiny pot, the first one almost spherical, the second more like a traditional vase, each one no more than an inch across, sitting on a table with a hair dryer for scale.

a collection of tiny pots and vases on a clay tray. they are all different shapes and textures, and they have been underglazed in a variety of colors. one of them is only half the size of the rest, and one more is only a quarter the size of the rest.

Took a truly delightful miniature pottery wheel throwing class and had a great time. Can’t wait to get these back once they’ve been fired. In the last picture, the kind of tall red one was made with only a half size ball of clay, and the green one next to it was made with only a quarter size ball of clay, I tried to do one that is 1/8 size as well but I just couldn’t get it to stay on the Wheel and shape well in the time that I had.

a small glass flask with a round bulbous bottom, a thin neck, and a flared top, is held up so the sun shines through it. it is made of red, blue, and clear glass swirl together and it Glitters beautifully in the sun.

Got to pick up my piece from the glass blowing class last week. I think I’m going to put one of those little LED light corks in it so it always Glitters like this. My breath made this happen! What a fucking fantastic thing to know.
