A: It sounds natural if you are speaking informally to someone, or using a slang version to make it have more meaning. "damn" being like "very". But more formal conversation, it sounds slightly unnatural. But still ok! :)

If someone is upset (as in angry), you can say "hey, calm down. What's going on?" (if they are screaming or throwing things or something). If they are upset (as in sad and crying). I can't think of any equivalents to "easy there" and "take it easy" other than "calm down", though.
