Chinese mythology is full of fantastic supernatural and mythical creatures. Whilst the Western world is probably most familiar with the dragon and the phoenix, there are other equally interesting, though less well-known mythological beings. One of these is the Qilin.

Chinese unicorn

Description My portrait of a Qilin, or "Kirin" in Japanese (you know, like the beer?). They are the eastern version of a unicorn and serve similar roles in their lore part deer, part dragon, ox etc... Mine looks like its part brine shrimp. thats my chinese name there. Yes, I know my calligraphy sucks, I just needed something black in that corner. P.S. I made this for a special somebody!
