Western Juniper is a coniferous evergreen of the Cypress family found throughout western U.S. Juniper has the ability to grow in very dry, rocky sites. Rocky mountain Juniper is a long- lived species often surviving 300 years. The oldest living Rocky mountain juniper, near Logan, UT is estimated to be 3,000 yrs. old.
