Although fashion did not embrace the look of trousers on the female form until the late 20th century, history saw working women wearing them a hundred years prior. About this time last year I became slightly obsessed (as I do) with the early 20th century bicorne and tricorn hat revival. Naturally that meant I made one!

I've always enjoyed vintage fashions and fashion history (though I'm now old enough to remember when some vintage fashions were new!) This is my blog for posting images from the large collection of old catalogs and fashion magazines I have piled up in my spare room. I'll be posting stuff from between the 1940s and the 1980s. A warning to visitors: Some of these images are scary!

1910's Fashion

Back in the days before the camera was king, fashions were portrayed to the masses through artfully illustrated drawings. Somebody has collected a series of these beautiful sketches, documenting the changes in western fashion all the way from 1784 to 1970, when the artform finally became obsolete.
