I still like to keep a bottle of iridescent medium from @winsorandnewton on hand for when I feel like adding a little shimmer to a painting. It’s not a necessary tool … but it’s FUN! Here are a few helpful tips when using iridescent medium and a few pros and cons. ⭐️TIPS •Apply directly for a bright, shimmering effect, apply iridescent medium directly from the bottle on top of a dry wash. •Mix with color For a more subtle shimmer, mix iridescent medium with non-iridescent colors.
