Today's recipe for Sausage and Onion Puff Pastry Pie is a fabulous standby recipe that uses ingredients from the freezer as well as the store cupboard. Based on a pie I used to enjoy for school dinners, in place of braised beef and onions, I have used sausages with fried onions. The pie is made in a square deep baking tin, I used a square cake tin with great results and uses ready-made puff pastry. So many of you have cooked my Marry Me Sausages. It seems to have turned into a bit of a regular for a few of us...so I thought I'd turn it into a pie!

Don't worry if you don't have a heart shaped cutter (I found these at the back of the drawer!) You can either cut them into squares or just use a whole sheet of pastry.

This version is a little bit saucier and a little bit cheesier than my original - I've written up the full recipe below, so make sure you save it! A x

Feeds 4-6

10 pork sausages
1 onion finely sliced
3 cloves of garlic finely chopped
1 tbsp flour
300ml double cream
400ml chicken stock
