Hello, lovelies. For those of you who have been around for a while, my periodic absences and the occasional dearth of creative output are nothing new. If you’re new, hi! I’m a gifmaker and an extremely bashful artist who is currently completely slammed by real life stuff.

The job I’ve had for the last year or so has become increasingly taxing (which, I guess, isn’t shocking when it comes to running a business), but that does unfortunately mean that most of my energy is poured into work, and there is little left over for creative expression at the end of the day. And, speaking more broadly, the circumstances of my life outside of this blog have needed much more of my attention lately then I would prefer.

But I’m not going anywhere. I need this. I need this silly site where I can cross paths with you and we can laugh and cry and swoon over our interests. Every single day, I think about the projects on this blog that I haven’t finished yet. I think about the movies and shows I’m giffing, character moments/parallels I want to highlight, the specific crack or heartbreaking gifsets that I’ve thought of but haven’t actually made yet. I’m still writing down ideas and keeping track of my progress for all of the above. I’m planning out how to acquire the skills or tools needed to execute some of my ideas. I need this. And I’m not going anywhere.

A part of my heart is always here, whether I am able to actually make new things and share them with you or not. (You’ve pretty much been enjoying my queue and the occasional scheduled draft since last October…) Hopefully I will be able to get back to goofing off here and more regular original posting soon.

In the meantime, I hope you each find reasons to smile every day. Thank you for sticking with me through the years! Oh, and thank you so much to my fellow creators who still tag me in things we love! You all make this place wonderful. ♥️

It’s finally happened.

After almost a decade on this site, I found another Tumblr user in the wild. I stopped to tie my shoe with rainbow laces this morning outside the silversmith at Colonial Williamsburg, and I heard it.

“I like your shoelaces.”

Oh. Oh no.

I responded the only way I could. “Thanks.” And then I reluctantly added, “I stole them from the president…and if that makes sense to you, I’m very sorry.”

The poor man, in full Colonial dress, stared at me for a long moment. And then burst into laughter. And said, “I haven’t thought about that in YEARS and this has never happened to me before.”

Yeah. Me neither. Not until today.
