Aegyptus superior (Arabice صعيد مصر Ṣaʿīd Miṣr, imminutum Arabice الصعيد aṣ-Ṣeʿīd; Accadice Uriṣṣu) est lacinia terrae quae in ambobus Nili lateribus patet et inter Nubiam et secundum flumen ad septentriones ad Aegyptum inferiorem extenditur.
Aegyptus superior antiquitate appellabatur 'terra harundinum' vel 'terra cyperacearum'.[1] In viginti duos pagos dividebatur, nomos appellatos.[2] Primus nomus patebat ubi Aswan hodiernum est, et vicensimum secundum prope Atfih hodiernum erat, paululum ad meridiem Cairi.
